Why I built Switchback

It started as a spreadsheet for my own outreach. Two real products later, it became the tool I wished I'd had.

Switchback began as a spreadsheet I used to track my own cold outreach while testing product ideas. Each row was a lead, each column a follow-up date, and a red cell meant something was due.

What the spreadsheet couldn't do

It tracked who I'd emailed, but not what I was testing. I couldn't see which message went to which audience, or tell when it was time to change course rather than send more.

What I built instead

A small app that treats outreach as a series of tests: one audience, one message, five leads a week, and a plain verdict at the end of each. The name comes from mountain trails. A switchback changes direction so you can keep climbing.

Selling it the same way

I'm selling Switchback with cold outreach, tracked in Switchback. If you got an email from me, you're part of the test.
